The house called Il Palazza was constructed in the early 1400s by Berto Berti, an important citizen of the nearby city of Certaldo who made his fortune in banking in Florence. He also owned banks in Rome and was the personal banker of the Pope.
The property has been part of Count Adinolfo Lucchesi-Palli’s royal family since the 1700s, when his grandmother inherited the property. The Count resides in the home with his wife Elizabeth, an American woman who came to Tuscany on vacation and decided never to leave. They are at the property 24/7 and are available for whatever you need. As an American, she will provide the customer service and assistance during your stay that will make you feel at home in this incredible region.
